The heaviness of winter has lifted, the windows are open, and the air feels fresh. Spring has officially arrived, and it’s that time of year when many of us feel the urge to renew our homes and bring in a lighter, easier feel.
That shift tends to show up in our homes in different ways. Some of us start by working with what we already have, while others look to bring in a few new pieces. If you would rather refresh your space using what you have, we have shared a few simple ideas here (link coming soon). If you are looking to add a few fresh pieces to help set the tone for spring, this curated selection is for you.
In Spring Edit, we’ve pulled together a selection of vintage and antique pieces from our shop that feel inspired by a lighter season, while still keeping the timeless character and earthy depth that define our signature style.
About the Collection.
First up in this collection is a piece we have had in our inventory for a few months, just waiting for the right moment to showcase and that moment has finally arrived!
This Framed Antique Century Photogravure of John Walter Tempest with a Horse is a truly striking piece. It is based on an original oil painting from around 1780 by British artist George Romney. The photogravure process, a high-quality 19th century printing method, gives the piece its rich detail and depth.
While this piece works year-round, we especially love the subtle blue and warm grey tones for spring. It adds a bit of lightness while still keeping the earthy depth we are drawn to. Finished in a detailed wood frame, it has a classic presence that stands out without feeling overpowering.
This piece works well layered into a spring-inspired vignette on a console table, as shown below, or styled on a bookshelf. Its size makes it easy to use on a small wall or mix into a gallery wall for added interest.
Next, we selected a beautiful Brass Scalloped Edge Pitcher. This sweet piece is soft and just slightly whimsical, effortlessly capturing the feeling of spring.
Made in Italy, it features beautiful scalloped edge detailing that gives it a gentle, decorative shape while still feeling classic. The warm brass adds richness, but the silhouette keeps it light and easy to work into your home this time of year.
We chose to style it with three of these dried-looking beige rose stems (linked below). The soft, warm tones and slightly draped shape of the stem work well with the structure of the pitcher, creating a look that feels relaxed and natural. It is an easy way to bring in a hint of spring without relying on bright colors or anything too seasonal.
For smaller accents in this collection, we added a few candleholders. First up is this Classic Set of Brass Candleholders. The turned detailing along the stems gives them that traditional look that fits easily into any space, any time of year.
We also added a Brass Peacock Chamberstick Candleholder to the collection. It is one of those pieces we love year-round, but spring is a great time to bring it forward, especially if you tend to rotate your decor. The bird motif feels fitting for the season, and the lower, more relaxed profile gives it an easy, lived-in feel that works well layered on a table or used as a sculptural accent on a shelf.
Next, we included our exclusive Flora Lamp. This piece features soft striped detailing in a mix of colors that feel very much in line with spring. The combination of warm neutrals and subtle variation in tone gives it interest and charm. It has been newly rewired and paired with a fresh off-white shade, making it ready to use while still keeping its original character. We believe this piece would pair especially well with the framed antique photogravure mentioned above.
We also added an Original Oil on Board of a landscape with a bridge. This piece brings in soft green tones and a quiet, natural scene that instantly gives a space a spring feel. It is the kind of artwork that adds color in a subtle, grounding way.
Finally, we included this Wrought Iron Plant Stand. This is the time of year when plants start coming back out, and it felt like a natural addition to the collection. The design is simple with a subtle Parisian feel that adds just enough charm. It pairs beautifully with our Large Tan Stoneware Crock or with a pot you already have. Easy to place in a corner, near a window, or even outside on a patio.
Each of the pieces in this collection was chosen for the way it captures the feeling of spring. Light and easy, while still holding onto the timeless character and depth we love. A simple way to bring that feeling into your home as the season shifts.
