Italy Through My Eyes: From Landmarks to Little Moments

About a year ago, Zach and I took a trip to Italy with another couple who are some of our closest friends.

The four of us shared a truly unforgettable experience! But, since it was my first time in Europe, the trip hit a little differently—leaving a lasting impression on everything from my mindset to my moodboards.

Exploring Italy’s Most Beautiful Corners.

We had the privilege of visiting several cities over the course of our trip, including Venice, Bassano Del Grappa, Florence, Lecco (on Lake Como), and Rome.

We wandered through soaring cathedrals, explored centuries-old landmarks, and climbed more bell towers than I can remember!

We witnessed an incredible stage of the iconic Giro d’Italia, one of the most prestigious professional cycling races in the world, and spent a dreamy afternoon cruising by boat around Lake Como.

In each city, we took in captivating views that seemed to grow more beautiful with every turn. I found myself in awe, completely mesmerized by the details. From the oversized doors that towered above us to the endless marble that seemed to surround every space, each corner revealed layers of history and craftsmanship unlike anything I’d ever seen.

Still, as beautiful as everything we saw was, it was in the slower moments that Italy’s charm truly came to life.

Slow Moments, Lasting Impressions.

With magnificent architecture, exquisite art, and stunning landscapes, Italy’s beauty is impossible to miss. But beyond the grand views and famous landmarks, I’ve found that it’s the smaller moments that tend to linger in your memory. Even a year later, I still think about the magic of that trip.

From the gentle rhythm of quiet mornings to long walks through stone streets, afternoon visits to tucked-away churches rich in history and charm, and every slow, savored meal, Italy is a place where even the simplest moments feel special.

In this fast-paced world, it can be difficult to slow down and really notice all the beauty around us. Our time in Italy was a gentle reminder of how special those quiet, everyday moments can be.

For me, Italy was a place not just seen, but felt deep in my soul, and a trip that I know I will continue to carry with me for the rest of my life.

So from the grand cathedrals to the quiet hidden corners, this is Italy—captured through my lens and felt with my heart.
